Congratulations to GLMA achievement award recipient… Shana Zucker
Shana Zucker, an MD/MPH/MS candidate at the Tulane University school of medicine, is a recipient of the joint American Medical Student Association/GLMA LGBT Health Achievement Award. This award was also presented at the AMSA conference earlier this year. Shana is being honored for her work as the co-founder of the Queer Curriculum Development, Implementation, and Research Team at Tulane Medical School. She has worked to develop an online LBGT curriculum which all first-year medical students at Tulane are now required to complete. She is currently in the process of evaluating the effectiveness of the curriculum in terms of creating a positive environment for LBGT students, faculty, and patients.
The event was hosted at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health designed by Frank Gehry pictured below. What a beautiful space!
